The series, which has just finished airing its Season 4, on 23rd February, is scheduled to return with a fifth season sometime in June. Reportedly, Mary McDonnell, whom we know as President Laura Roslin from Battlestar Galactica, is all set to join the show in the upcoming Season 5. Reportedly, Mary is to play the role of Capt. She will be seen on the show in a multi-episode arc and will be butting heads with Kyra Sedgwick. Now, it will be really interesting to see how Brenda handles her new colleague and what results when the ego’s of the two powerful women clash. Kyra Sedgwick has been hugely appreciated on The Closer as the LAPD deputy chief, who very effectively handles sensitive, high-profile murder cases. Her complete dedication to her work and her ability to extract truth from even the most hardcore criminals has made her an honorable cop who inspires every youngster willing to join the force. Her team, which was initially apprehensive of her abilities, has come to respect and have confidence in her leadership, as they work together to solve LA’s toughest murder cases.
The Closer series has put the police department in a new light before the audiences. It presents before the audiences, the hardworking and uncorrupt policemen at work whose main aim is to bring justice to the people who have been wronged. And the show which has been steadily growing in popularity, is improving with each passing season. I hope the show is here to stay for many more years to come!
