Kyra Sedgwick’s mother, Patricia, was a speech teacher/ therapist and his father, Henry Dwight Sedgwick V was a venture capitalist. She belongs to a very illustrious family. Her father was Episcopalian of English heritage and her mother was a Jewish. She is very well known for her appearance as Brenda Johnson on ‘The Closer’. She has won a Golden Globe award as the Best Actress for lead role in a dramatic TV series for ‘The Closer’ and has also been nominated for Emmy Award as well.

When she was just 3, her parents separated. After three years, they divorced and her mother re-married Ben Heller, an art dealer. She attended the Sarah Lawrence College and graduated with a Theatre Degree from the Friends Seminary. She made her acting debut when she was sixteen. She was also seen in several Hollywood movies such as ‘Something to Talk About’ and ‘Phenomenon’. She also appeared in ‘Miss Rose White’, 1992 award winning made-for-TV movie. In 2007 movie ‘The Game Plan’, she played Stella Peck.
